Tension Track
This track is called " After, It's Over".
"After It's Over," is a US Urban Tension track. I created this for a movie or TV series with elements of seeking something out.
I had the idea that something negative happens to a character in a movie, a friend or family member of the lead character. The Lead character is now seeking justice for the other character.
I used instruments that I thought I would hear in an Urban American Orchestra would have. I used Timpani and Cymbals for the percussion, and violins, viola, and cello for the strings. I wanted to grab the listener's attention with the seriousness of the strings. The lead character would have feelings if something negative happened to a loved one, so I hope I brought that to life here in this piece.
Short Score
“Save the Date”
*Video provided by Full Sail University
Scoring for a short romantic film called “Save The Date.”
I started with a peaceful romantic melody for the film's introduction, in the key of A minor. I was listening to a lot of introduction music on wedding videos on YouTube.
Section 0:20-2:45 starts with an EDM house DJ song. I wrote this section in the key of C Major to give it that bright happy feel. The environment in this section reminded me of old high school dances so I went with that type of musical background. This section is focused to the right where the DJ is playing so it sounds like the music is coming from the DJ.
Section 2:45-3:02 the DJ switches the song. I stayed in the key of C Major for this section to keep the brightness and went for a more Jumpy approach to get people moving. The music in this section is focused to the right where the DJ is playing so it sounds like the music is coming from the DJ.
Section 3:02-4:00 is lightly serious but friendly with a guitar and bass section and minimal percussion.
The Ending Section:
In sections 5:17-6:01, I tried to capture a light-hearted moment with the scoring. I wrote this section in E minor to try and capture a serious conversation. The resolution is light-hearted when they both find out they crashed the wedding.
The section starting at 6:01 changes to E major with the same chord progression to lighten up the conversation on a happy note.
Jingle & Commercial
This is a short 30-second Jingle for an esthetician in Las Vegas. She specializes in waxing, body scrub, and skin care treatments. Her shop is surrounded by greenery and plants, so I wanted to create a short score that would bring out the natural feel.
I’ve added two acoustic guitars, one for melody and the background harmony. I went for a simple bass line so it didn’t take too much away from the commercial video it will be added to. I also added a synth piano to give it more personalization to the guitar melody. The simple percussion featured bongos, conga, and Latin maracas. Lastly, I added the audio of the outside environment with some birds tweeting in the background.
